At thirteen, Liri lost her father to cancer. This year she will have lived more years without him than with him. In the piece she goes back to 2012 — the year he fell ill, and the same August day he died. While her father breathed his last breaths in the living room, she was swimming in the pool. The journey into the past moves through swim practice, attempts to find a cure and hope, life beside a body growing weaker, and the family's memories from that time. Again and again she relives the past and tries to change it: to save her father, to free herself from guilt, and to give them both a different ending. But even when the fantasy finally manages to defeat the cancer, reality refuses to change. It's an autobiographical, imaginary journey, trying to live alongside what cannot be changed.

Lucy tries to do everything to prove she's what's called, in English, wife material. She tries to win Nicole's heart in order to impress Adam, Nicole's father — or at least that's what she thinks at first, until the tables turn. Nicole wins her heart instead; the mission succeeds, but that's exactly why everything falls apart.
