Yevgeny Leshchenko
A multidisciplinary artist, set designer, musician, and Jerusalem culture entrepreneur. Over the years Leshchenko has shaped the visual language of many Mikro Theater productions (among them "Stupid Like Hamlet," "The World of Yesterday," and "Vows"), specializing in creating dramatic spaces with symbolic weight and visual depth under fringe-theater conditions. Alongside his theater work, Leshchenko is an active musician who leads the band "Sector," which blends Balkan folk-rock with contemporary influences and performs at major stages and festivals across the country.
As part of his work advancing Jerusalem's cultural scene, Leshchenko owns and runs "HaBessarabia" bar — an independent cultural center and hub for live performances, visual art, and fringe events. His deep familiarity with the field, both as a musical creator and a cultural entrepreneur, gives his artistic work a wide, unconventional perspective. His expertise in building "worlds" — both inside the theater and in community spaces — makes him a designer with a rare ability to produce cultural experiences that combine artistic precision with a direct, unmediated connection to the audience.
